Dear Villagers,

We have been asked by BBC Studios, Kids & Family Productions, if they could use the Railway Path Tunnel behind St Fillans for a film location. The path will therefore need to be closed for a few days at the beginning of August. The most likely section will be from Station Road through to the power lines above St Fillans Power Station, with the access from both the Play Park and the Four Seasons Hotel also closed off.

Their access for equipment etc. will probably be from Station Road but also maybe via the Four Seasons Hotel.

They are currently scheduled to start filming at the tunnel on Friday 2 August, on site from 8am until 7pm, but are likely to have crew in the area from 6am (at the earliest) until 9pm or thereabouts. Filming may then take a few days thereafter.

The Production Team apologies for any inconvenience caused but hope you will appreciate and enjoy the end result.

I will try to keep the Village informed of any updates but please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Best regards, Geoff Carter.

UPDATE 24 JULY

Further to the announcement on 16th July about filming of The Primrose Children at the tunnel, BBC Studios (Kids & Families Productions) are about to start early preparation work, so diversions signs will be put in place on Thursday 25th July. These will be effective until the end of filming and reinstatement work.

UPDATE 8 AUGUST

Now that filming here is finished, the railway track is open again for public use. The few remaining items (these will be collected in due course) should not impede anyone’s use of the cycle track which has been closed up to now.

BBC Productions are very grateful to the villagers for their co-operation and understanding and we shall try to let you know when the film will be televised, planned for around Christmas time.
