Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
Camping Management Byelaws Review – Public Consultation Launched
Camping has always been one of the most cherished activities in the National Park, allowing people to experience, enjoy and connect with nature. How camping is managed in the National Park is an important part of how we both protect and maximise those benefits.
Camping Management Byelaws were introduced in 2017 to both protect popular loch-shore areas of the National Park and vastly improve the experience for visitors and those who live and work in these areas.
Byelaws are required by law to be reviewed every 10 years. The first review of the Camping Management Byelaws is due to be submitted to the Scottish Government by 1st March 2027.
This is a legal review which will consider whether any changes should be made to the operation of the Byelaws.
Publication Consultation
As part of the review process, a 12-week public consultation will be held from Monday 29th June to Monday 21st September.
The purpose of the consultation is to gather views on recommended changes and any evidence that would make the case for any further change to the existing Camping Management Byelaws.
